My Neighbor

I saw my neighbor
Slowly shuffling

Cap on head
Bag in hand

Out the door
Across the street

I sat and waited
and drove off.

  5. This saddens me really, but probably he was hoping no one would notice.... That makes me wonder really if people would prefer others notice their difficulties or pretend not to see them.

  6. THe shuffling could be anything from a slow gait to Thorazine! This was right on the money concerning the prompt - had that Williams feel of the everyday made special. I liked this very much. Amy

  14. Wow, says much in few words. Very Williams-esque in the way it makes the reader fill in more details in imagination, while the poem itself says everything essential.
