Leaves rust on branches
A hope of expectation
Ashes steal the light
Child's silent shadow
A threshold of hidden grace
Perish on the edge
Moment of your truth
Crackled and burned around me
All born to perish
Hope veiled in heaven
Rumor of freedom wings flight
In love’s gracious eyes.
(Therefore receive one
another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God – Romans 15:7)
Written for Poets United - Equality
we are not bound to this life...there is hope in what comes next for sure...
ReplyDeletei really like the contrasting edges of that second verse alan.
Beautiful. I love the hope in the closing stanza. Am thankful for my belief in the hereafter, since the "here" is often mind-boggling:)
ReplyDeleteWith the double assertion of perishing, the love and hope of equality in heaven is like a bell calling.
