Sweet soft intrusions
Lengthening shadows in light
As rains scarf burdens the air
I lie listening
Awake as faint tears drizzle
Alive to the wings of dawn.
(Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because
His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. – Lamentations
3:22-23)
hopefully the tears are just rain drops on the window....
ReplyDeletethank goodness for a new dawn though eh?
This is simply awesome, i havent meet poets writing in this form outside of 'Wonder Haiku Worlds' website; [http://www.wonderhaikuworlds.com/ website]
ReplyDeletehappy you stopped over at my site
much love...
Dawn can be a wonderfully reflective time of day...and the thoughts at that time of day can be lovely 'intrusions' to one's waking!
ReplyDeleteYou make us wonder about the tears, Alan. But the image of wings encourage me to be optimistic and consider the coming day in a positive light.
