The Letter

Stained tears
Ink kissed paper
The regret dried  slowly
I cannot find your faith or hope
Lost words
The heart stretched across the kind page
A cry in the darkness
For forgiveness
In tears

Written for Theme Thursday

  1. Very pretty and melancholy. Somewhat reminds me of Gordon Lightfoot's song "Your Love's Return."

  2. Lovely and romantically expressed!

  3. A gem of a poem. Loved it

    The regret died slowly. beautiful.

  4. I liked "Ink kissed paper" along with the asking for forgiveness in the poem. It says so much with each line, I really like it and can just imagine someone sitting there with one light on a desk, sitting there trying to write it.

Thanks for sharing this poem with us for this weeks Theme Thursday. Hope you weekend is filled with lots of happiness and letters of love.

    God bless.

  5. very good...a few words with a lot of meaning.
I really liked "The heart stretched across the kind page"...

  6. moving alan...so much emotion in that letter...a letter seeking forgiveness can be a beautiful thing...and letting go that regrets not easy either...
